A new film is currently in pre-production in Los Angeles, California and Toronto, Ontario. 'Arezou' will tell a Persian tale about a young girl who discovers the secret world of an underground ballet group in post-revolution Iran and rewrites her destiny. The film will star Shohreh Aghdashloo, the Iranian actress who was Oscar nominated for her performance in 'House of Sand and Fog' in which she performed opposite Sir Ben Kingsley. 'Arezou' is produced by Chelsea Winstanly, whose film 'JoJo Rabbit' saw her Oscar nominated in the Best Film category, whilst her husband Taika Waititi, who wrote and directed the film, won an Academy Award for his outstanding script. Sophia Kiapos has written and will direct 'Arezou', a film which she says has been inspired in part by Haideh and Nejad Ahmadzadeh: "A phenomenally deep and profound impact has been made in my life through the visionaries that are the Ahmadzadeh's. Aida and Nejad Ahmadzadeh are true pioneers and to carry on their precious legacy and bright light is one of the many missions behind the film, 'Arezou.'" Find out more about Arezou on IMDB.

Back in January 2018, film maker Sarvnaz Alambeigi spent a week interviewing and filming Haideh and Nejad Ahmadzadeh for her latest documentary, '1001 Nights Apart.'
She describes the film as follows: 'After the revolution of 1979, the gap widened between Iranians in Iran and Iranians abroad. Many people left the country. The next generations born after the revolution in Iran knew nothing about their past or they were completely apathetic about it. A large part of Iranian history was destroyed or burnt in the revolution and what was left for the new generations was an invented history. It is still difficult to discern the lies from the truth. Many Iranians hid their true identities out of fear. Ballet dancers were among these. Stories and histories were left untold, and the old and new generations remained total strangers. This gap grew over the past 40 years. The Tale of Scheherazade is a ballet, portraying a nation and performed and choreographed in two different eras by two completely separate generations of Iranian dancers and inspired by the famous story of Scheherazade in the 1001 Nights. As the film progresses, both groups become Scheherazade the story-teller and tell their own stories for the first time.' '1001 Nights Apart' will be released soon.
